A former NASA Principal Investigator and Researcher Dr. Brian Hashemi is known to have a strong capacity to analyze very complex contexts and processes. He is Managing Partner at Salus Partners heading the healthcare investment and advisory services of the firm. Recognizing the growing global demand for Health Technologies he has developed a strategic approach at Salus Partners for investments that accelerate expansion of promising proven medical and health technology innovations with global impact in healthcare.
Brian has been a founder of a number of companies with investment management expertise in the Healthcare and Real Estate sectors. Prior to establishing Salus Partners he was a Partner at a multi-family office leading the Direct Investment team. Brian holds a Ph.D. in Applied Physics from Cornell University in New York, and an MBA in Entrepreneurship and Investment Management from The Wharton School in Philadelphia.
Brian has extensive background in healthcare technology development and commercialization and has been an Assistant Professor at Baylor College of Medicine where he began his affiliation in the National Space Biomedical Research Institute. For 13 years he was responsible for the development of advanced technologies in the biomedical division of NASA where he was responsible for a number of technologies that were flown in the Space Shuttle program on STS-81 and STS-84. He is an avid aviator and holds an FAA Commercial Multi-Engine rating.
Passionate about operational excellence, Christian Jauch has over 20 years of experience in the Swiss Corporate, Financial, and Banking industry. At Salus Partners he oversees Investment Management and back-office functions. He supports establishment of companies within the healthcare and financial sectors, where he leverages his experience and network for efficient management of corporate development and back office infrastructure.
He has been instrumental in efficient creation and administration of a number of European companies and has extensive expertise within the healthcare sector.
Prior to joining Salus Partners Christian most recently led the establishment of a multi-family office, where he as a Director was responsible for all aspects of corporate registration, infrastructure, and middle office operations.
Christian has extensive expertise in trade finance and private banking, notably at Cantonal Bank of Geneva and at ING. He holds a Master degree in Banking and Finance from the Swiss Bankers Association.
Fariba has over 20 years of experience in Economics research and education. She has been teaching courses for Master and PhD students at some of the leading universities in Europe including ETH Zurich, Karolinska Institute Stockholm, HEC Paris, Graduate Institute Geneva, EPF Lausanne and IMD. Topics of her courses have included Risk Analysis and Risk Management, Decision Making Under Risk and Uncertainty, Economics of Innovation in Life Science and Technology, Bio-Entrepreneurship, and Entrepreneurial Investments.
Fariba holds a PhD in Economics from the University of California in Los Angeles.
A former General Manager of Morgan Stanley Switzerland, Sven Spiess tries to ask the right questions and determine people’s needs in his endeavor to deliver wealth optimization. He is a Partner at Salus Partners where he has a special focus on governance review and wealth optimization.
Sven brings over 30 years of experience in the Financial and Banking sector. He began his career as a market maker in foreign exchange followed by increasing risk management responsibilities as an internal banking auditor at Julius Baer; then he spent nine years as a senior Controller at Morgan Stanley Europe; six years as the COO and General Manager of the Private Bank of Morgan Stanley in Switzerland, and more recently as the COO of a multi-Family office in Switzerland.
Sven holds a Business Management Degree from the Zurich Business School and he has been qualified as a federal “Certified Swiss Banker” by the Swiss Bankers Association.
Prior to Salus Partners, Paolo worked at Société Générale in the Asset-Backed Products area supporting the Engineering team and at UBS in the Forex, Rates & Credit division, working in the Business Management team.
Paolo graduated with a Master of Science in Finance from HEC Lausanne.
